I am often asked about my favourite Indian food place in town, and I have to unequivocally say that it is “HOST INDIA” … As my mom – the greatest Indian food connoisseur ever – would attest, Host India food is practically the only Indian food in town that comes close to what we eat in INDIA. I am a vegetarian and vegetarian food is what we feast on when we visit the place, but most of my friends are not and they tell me that their non vegetarian food is to die for too. As I am talking about the food offering, I have to mention their paranthas and kulchas – which incidentally you cannot get anywhere else in Ottawa (atleast I have not seen them anywhere) – are the BEST … I can feel my mouth water as I am writing this … and the owners are the kindest folks that you can find in the desi (read Indian) service industry … all in all … I will give Host India a 5 star recommendation any day of the year, and mind it I am a tough Indian food critic … and I would urge anyone who has any interest in Indian food to give Host India a try atleast once … Carry outs are big servings and come with a 10% discount … and if you are dining there … you can still get a 10% discount (not on the buffet though) by just quoting my name … Manu Sharma (for those who dont know it while reading this ….)
